Maundy Thursday (April 18), 7:00 pm

Holy Eucharist with Foot-washing, Agape Meal, Procession to the Altar of Repose, and the Stripping of the Altar
What to Expect:
Our service begins like any regular service, but after the sermon our priest kneels down before us and offers to serve us by washing our feet--reenacting Christ's act of humble service toward his disciples on the night before he died. We also celebrate the Eucharist, as usual, but with special attention to the way in which Christ left us this practice so that we would "do this in remembrance" of him, always knowing that we meet Him in this meal, and he nourishes us with food and drink richer than we can imagine. After the foot-washing, we gather for a small meal in the same manner as Christ did with his disciples. After the meal with journey with Christ into the Garden (our Altar of Repose) to keep watch before the Blessed Sacrament before moving to strip the altar in preparation for the tragedy of Good Friday. Join us for this contemplative service that spans the final night of our Lord's life--from joy with his friends to tragedy in his betrayal--the beginning of the Triduum and the culmination of our Salvation.

Good Friday (April 19)

Stations of the Cross, 12:00 pm
Good Friday Service, 7:00 pm
Stations of the Cross:
This service is small and contemplative - it consists of a series of meditations on the fourteen "stations" of the cross - Jesus's path to his crucifixion and burial. We gather together at noon and sit before images of the stations; we read the stories of the stations, and we pray. The service is simple and to the point, and in that way it is incredibly powerful. Walk the way of the Lord and his cross with us.
Good Friday Service:
This is the principle service on Good Friday, and it commemorates the death of our Lord upon the cross for the salvation of the world. The service begins in silence. We hear a "dramatic reading" of the Passion Narrative (the story of Jesus's suffering and death), we venerate the Holy Cross itself as the sign of our salvation and God's victory over death, and we receive Communion from the reserved Sacrament (since we don't celebrate the Eucharist on this day).

Holy Saturday (April 20)

Holy Saturday Liturgy, 12:00 pm
What to Expect:
This is another short and contemplative service, in which we meditate on the absence of our Lord. It is a service in which we take seriously the absence of God in the midst of tragedy, but where we also await with hope the glory of Christ's resurrection, which we celebrate on Easter.

The Great Vigil of Easter (April 20)

Easter Vigil and Holy Eucharist, 8:00 pm
What to Expect:
This service begins by lighting a great fire in the midst of darkness, and by proclaiming how much joy God takes in always igniting a spark in the world--from the light of creation to giving life to Christ in the resurrection. We begin this service by recounting the endless ways in which God has brought salvation into the world with nine readings from the Scriptures, culminating in the celebration of God raising Christ from the dead. We renew our baptismal vows (since Easter is a traditional time that people are baptized), and we celebrate the first Eucharist of Easter, complete with the restoration of the Alleluias, the Gloria, and many other joyful sounds. Join us as we welcome this new and glorious season.

Easter Sunday Morning (April 21)

Holy Eucharist, 10:00 am
Our Easter morning service is at our regular time on Sunday morning. Join us for this wonderful celebration at 10:00 in the morning, followed by a festive and joyous potluck after the service.
