Getting to Know the Book of Common Prayer

As Anglicans and Episcopalians, we hold our beliefs to be often best expressed through our prayers. Those prayers, for the most part, are contained in our Book of Common Prayer. This book (in many different editions) has been in use in Anglican Churches throughout the world since 1549. We currently use the American Book of Common Prayer of 1979 at each of our services--but on Sundays we only skim the surface of its riches.
We want you to know that there is much to be gained and learned by spending time with the Book of Common Prayer on your own. Click the link below to find an online version of the Book of Common Prayer, along with a video from Father Shane about some of the ways you can use it at home on your own or with your family.
